If a student’s test has been paused for more than one day, it may become locked in DRC eDIRECT. When this happens, you’ll need to manually unlock the test so the student can continue.
🧠Step-by-Step Instructions
- Log in to eDIRECT
Go to: https://pa.drcedirect.com. - Navigate to Test Sessions
- On the left menu, click Test Setup
- Then select Test Sessions
- Verify Your Settings
Before continuing, confirm:- Administration is set to the correct testing window (example: Classroom Diagnostic Tests)
- District and School are correct
- Your name is selected in the Teacher dropdown
- View Your Sessions
Click Show Sessions to display your assigned test sessions. - Edit Ticket Status
Find the test session you need and click Edit Print Ticket Status on the right. - Locate Locked Tests
You’ll see a list of students with their test status:- Complete
- In Progress
- Not Started
- Locked
- Unlock Student Tests
- To unlock a single student: click Unlock next to their name
- To unlock multiple students:
- Select the students
- Click Unlock Selected
- To unlock the entire session:
- Click Unlock All
- Students Resume Testing
Once unlocked, students can log back in using their testing ticket credentials and will return to where they left off.

- Try to avoid pausing tests for extended periods to prevent locking issues.
- If a test repeatedly locks or you run into issues, contact the IT department for assistance.
