Clearing Browser Cache (Edge, Chrome, Firefox)

Clearing your browser cache can resolve issues with loading pages, incorrect information displaying, or websites not functioning as expected. Below are the steps for the three most commonly used browsers across the district.


Microsoft Edge – Clear Cache

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.
  2. In the top-right corner, click the three dots (…).
  3. Select Settings.
  4. In the left menu, click Privacy, search, and services.
  5. Scroll to Clear browsing data.
  6. Click Choose what to clear.
  7. Set the Time range to All time.
  8. Check Cached images and files (you may also check Cookies if troubleshooting requires it).
  9. Click Clear now.
  10. Close and relaunch Edge.

Google Chrome – Clear Cache

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Click the three dots (⋮) in the upper-right corner.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Click Privacy and security on the left.
  5. Choose Clear browsing data.
  6. Set the Time range to All time.
  7. Check Cached images and files.
  8. Click Clear data.
  9. Restart Chrome.

Mozilla Firefox – Clear Cache

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Click the three horizontal lines (☰) in the upper-right corner.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Click Privacy & Security on the left.
  5. Scroll down to the Cookies and Site Data section.
  6. Click Clear Data….
  7. Check Cached Web Content.
  8. Click Clear → then Clear Now.
  9. Close and reopen Firefox.

When to Clear Cache

You may need to clear your cache if:

  • A webpage won’t load correctly
  • You see outdated information
  • An online form won’t submit
  • You get stuck loading websites after updates or changes
