📘Teacher Tech Quick Guide

Who this is for: Teachers & Instructional Staff

Purpose: Reduce common tech issues and support instruction during a virtual learning day

🔐 Student Login Information

Username

Password

  • Student’s normal school password

If a student cannot log in:

  1. Check Caps Lock
  2. Have the student try logging into Microsoft Teams first
  3. Confirm the student is using their school account
  4. Direct unresolved issues to the Help Desk channel or submit a tech request

💻 Microsoft Teams – Best Practices

  • Students should join class through Teams, not email links when possible
  • Attendance can be taken once students join the meeting

If students report Teams issues:

  • Have them refresh the page
  • Suggest switching browsers (Chrome recommended)
  • Chromebook users should confirm school account login
  • App users should fully close and reopen Teams

📂 Assignments & File Uploads

  • Post assignments in Teams > Assignments
  • If students cannot upload work:
    • Have them refresh and retry
    • Allow submission later if needed
    • Temporary upload issues are common during high-traffic times

Instruction should continue even if uploads are delayed.

🆘 Tech Support Options

  • Live Help / Drop-In Channel: Real-time support for staff and students
  • Non-urgent issues: Submit a standard technology help request

🧭 Helpful Reminders
